But wepeons training and Taijutsu is still taught I believe.

actually my sources on the last master practising came form a BBC3 program on martial arts, were the presenter had to defend himself from this master, who was wielding a katana. any UK residents or saw this 2?
i myself practise JuJitsu, or JiuJitsu, as it is sometimes spelt, which is similar to other forms of jitsu. again that is primarily a defensive art, focusing more on an armed combat, rather than armed. this said i am tought how to defend myslef against a katana, and learning to use a katana is part of the course (as is the bo). as yes tho i have not been trained in using ninja stars other ninja type weapons.
back to ninjitsu tho, and other assasin related arts. like i said b4, 'sources' can be dodgy, and i would question the truth of what i said. i merely quoted what i thought, which is that there is only one last master teaching ninjitsu. i forget his name. that said i expect there are about 1000 iterations of ninjitsu, some calling themsleves ninjitsu. it is hard to say. In my opinion i think that the art of ninjitsu is still taught today, but only for the sake of teaching it. as a martial art it has little relavence today, though i would still like to learn it

Isn't Jujitsu a grappling style martial art? Similar to what is used in UFC (Brazilian Jujitsu)? In any case, was the presenter on the TV show you saw about ninja a white dude with a beard? and the master being a small japanese dude? There are alot of practitioners/teachers of "ninjutsu" and I would believe most of them are not authentic; using a mixture of different styles of martial arts and passing it off as "ninjutsu". Even the authenticity of Dr. Maasaki Hatsumi is questioned despite his lineage (I believe he has the scrolls to prove his link with some ninja clan). If you search enough, you should find quite alot of information on this person...

I've trained in some Jiu Jitsu and whatnot before also, but one of my favorites would be Aikido. I wouldn't mind seeing some defensive Aikido type skills

I agree Aikido would look terrific ... but aren't we starting to stray just a bit from the concept of Assassin?

Aikido and Tai Chi would look great as attack style animations for Monks...
Assassins would benefit from those 9 Ryu of Ninjutsu...

Here is a skill idea
Lure,
Places a beacon that will be shown on map as a friendlyunit (like the spirits.. for instance, but the lure is moving slightly) and will lure enemy ai toward it(as if it was a intresting target). last x min

Here's one.. possibly placed in a Shadow type of attribute
Veil of Shadows
10e, 2s, 30r
For x seconds, all foes in range have 50% longer lasting hexes.

It would be elegant to see Wing-Chun or Chin-Na done well in a game.

maybe some martial arts here, Katana's, Staves.
I kinda like this set.
Agility (primary only): for each level of this, you gain a 3% increase in attack speed 3% increase in movment speed, and 1% chance to dodge attacks
Martal Arts: Each point in this increases the effectivness of melee attacks using the body.
Katana Mastery: improves the damage dealt by katana's
staff mastery: improves the damage dealt by staff's
Sai mastery (the sai is a sword breaker): Improves the damage dealt by Sai's
Claw mastery: improves the damage dealt by Claws
Some ideas for the skills
Shield
Grab target foe and use as a shield for x seconds.
Suffer Y dmg when shield ends
Attribute: Agility
Grab Weapon
Grab Target foe's next melee attack and hold weapon for X seconds
Suffer Y dmg when Grab Weapon ends.
Attribute: Sai Mastery

I dont think that ther should be individual weapon masteries, just the one, dual wielding that would incompas any weapons they use.

but then there would be only singular skills. i've been going in that circle for hours...
I DO think an agility idea would be kinda cool...

interesting ideas, although i dont really like the multiple weapon sets. the agility idea though is along the lines of what i was thinking, but u made it sound better than my head did . i think they should be able to dual wield and possibly use like throwing stars or something i dunno

the primary i put in there would be a nice one for a primary, 3% faster movement, and a 1% chance to dodge attacks, at 16, he'd dodge about 1 in 8, and move 45% faster
